Der Maler, German for "the painter, was founded in 2006 and has become trusted name for faux and fine finishings, straight painting and quality remodeling.
Joerg's attention to detail and demand for quality defines Der Maler. He is also a skilled carpenter, mason, blacksmith and mechanic.
True European craftsmanship
Joerg (pronounced "yorg") is a professional painter with over 25 years experience. He studied painting for three years at the Clausthal-Zellerfeld School of Painting where he learned the craft through the tradition passed down over the centuries from Germany's masters. He received his degree in "Maler und Lackierer" in 1988.
He began his career refinishing historical buildings in Goslar, Germany, which is recognized as a UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage site for its 1,000-year history. He soon expanded into residential and commercial painting where he quickly became one of the Harz Mountain region's most skilled painters. He specialized in residential faux and straight painting, which brought him to the United States.
In Houston, he has worked in the fine homes of Bellaire, the Heights, Memorial, Galleria, The Woodlands, Katy and Fulshear. He has also worked in Austin and San Antonio. See portfolio for samples of his work.
Joerg is a legal, permanent resident of the United States. German is his native tongue, and he speaks fluent English.
